“Every day” Review

It’s a tragic love story of an individual doomed to live in a person’s body every 24 hours, though the audience doesn’t understand why, they see a struggle in the person as they fall in love with a girl only to have to convince her that they are still them only in a new body.

Based on the best selling novel by David Levithan, Every day stars a long cast of teenagers including Angourie Rice as Rhiannon, the girl that A falls in love with as well as Justice Smith, who plays Rhiannon’s boyfriend, whom A first possesses and creates the perfect first date for them, as well as Jeni Ross as Amy, Lucas Jade Zumann as Nathan, Rory McDonald as David, Katie Douglas as Megan, Jacob Batalon as James, Ian Alexander as Vic, Sean Jones as George, Colin Ford as Xavier, Jake Sim as Michael, Nicole Law as Kelsea, Karena Evans as Hannah, Owen Teague as Alexander and Hannah Alissa Richardson as Katie.

15 days and 15 bodies inhabited and A for the first time wishes to stay in them to be able to fully love Rhiannon, but the question is can they really live in another body and be their full self?

At an hour 35 minutes, Every Day is a typical teenage love story similar to others including The Vow, where we see how deeply teenagers and first loves can be, but ultimately it stands out, because the outcome is not at all what you would expect.  It’s a daily journey that shows the importance of living for the day and not for the week or even month and it’s a great message for any adolescent to cherish every moment, because you never know when it might me your last.

Every day was produced by Orion Pictures as it’s first full length motion picture to be produced and distributed by the company.  It came out February 23, 2018 and is currently playing in a theater near you.

“Early Man” Review

The next stop animated film is currently out in theaters and bringing in a small group of faithfuls as it battles the popularity of the latest Marvel film that is taking all attention away from the other films at the box office.

Liongate’s Early Man features the voice talent of Eddie Redmayne as Dug, a caveman with big dreams of doing more than just hunting rabbits.  He attempts to convince Chief Bobnar (voiced by Timothy Spall) to hunt something bigger, but no change, until the bronze age takes over and Lord Nooth (Tom Hiddleton) challenges the cavemen to a little game of football in exchange for living in the valley.

Now it is up to Dug to turn these caveman of the past into players of the future in order to win back their home.  Early Man is a comedy for all ages with a message of  learning to work together as being pivotal to how one survives and conquers.  It also contains several adult themed jokes that kids may not get in the same way, but none the less will be entertained for the sake of things.

Overall, it’s a film that is good for the whole family as it came out February 16 coinciding with Black Panther and is currently playing in a theater near you.

“Panther” Exceeds Expectations

One of the largest pre sale grossing movies for President’s Day Weekend has finally made it to theaters as Thursday night previews proved to be a sign that the Wakandan King will fare well at the box office this weekend as it is targeting close to 200 million according to box office mojo.

Marvel’s Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa who is next in line for King and high honor as Black Panther after his father passes on.  However upon assuming the role, he finds his country being challenged by an outside force as Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan) attempts to overthrow him for his own angry intentions with the help of Ulysses Klaue (Andy Serkis).

But will T’Challa be able to keep his kingdom and save it from the terror of the other nation.

Also starring in Black Panther is Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross and of course the much anticipated cameo by comic book  legend, Stan Lee.

At 2 hours and 20 minutes, Black Panther is not your average superhero movie, as the film itself is heavily saturated with exposition that fans craved for after Black Panther’s debut in Captain America: Civil War.  There is a lot of depth to the movie that has audiences not turning their eyes away for a second.  It explains the legend of the Panther and follows the struggle between brother and brother as it is a fight to figure out which one will be the rightful ruler.

Black Panther is currently out in theaters February 16 and is a must for any comic book fan.

But there’s a catch, the next door neighbor, and long time friend to the rabbits, Bea (played byRose Byrne) comes over and sparks up a slight romance with the new McGregor.  Now, it’s time for Peter and his family to lay claim to what is theirs and try to drive this new McGregor out.

Overall, the film stayed true to the book by including all the familiar characters.  It brought life to a rooster as it painted a picture and answered a question as to why the rooster crows every morning, which added a comic relief to the mischief that the rabbits go into in the garden.

Peter Rabbit came out in theaters February 9 and currently is playing in a theater near you.

Fifty Shades Hits Its Climax

The Erotic love story based on the book by E.L James is coming to theaters this weekend in anticipation for Valentine’s Day as it nearly matched its previous chapter with 5.7 million in Thursday previews.

In the thrilling conclusion, the story picks up where Fifty Shades Darker left with Anastasia (Dakota Johnson) and Christian (Jamie Dornan) officially tying the knot and now the fun comes, trying to act like a married couple.  In the midst of Christian Grey’s million dollar business empire, Anastasia doesn’t want to stay home and Christian agrees to her keeping her publishing job with a few improvisations, that of body-guard service.  Meanwhile, the couple’s relationship is threatened by Jack (Eric Johnson) who wants Ana for himself, however we soon realize that is not the only reason as dark secrets about Christian’s adoption and foster care begin to emerge.  That along with the stunning conclusion of a not so surprising pregnancy is enough to keep viewers on the edge of their seats in this stunning conclusion.

At one hour forty-five minute run time, Fifty Shades Freed is a traditional love story with a slight erotic twist.  It will entertain viewers and fans of the novel alike as it follows the book fairly closely from start to finish, though it may not be for everyone, viewer discretion is strongly advised as it is rated “R”, for language and graphic nudity.

That aside, there is a good storyline that will keep one entertained.  See it in a theater near you.
