Julie Moree’s Audio Mixes

Welcome to Julie Moree’s Audio Mixes, a subpage to Julie Moree’s News Watch. The main goal of this page is to showcase various audio mix styles, made through Logic Pro as well as Protools in hopes of wowing potential viewers and clients to show what I might be able to bring to the table for them. The following mix, which was created at the culmination of my certificate program at Full Sail University is just one example of recording, editing and mixing using Logic Pro software. The intention and inspiration of the following mix would be to use collaboratively with my audio news podcasts which I stream via Anchor.fm.

The above audio link was set in 4/4 timing using a C major Blues scale. The bass which was created from scratch using the ESP synthesizer in Logic Pro, follows much of the Kick drum rhythm by giving the bass a plucky, space vibe. The C major blues scale consists of a series of five diatonic suspended 7th chords, ranging from, C7, F7, Eb7, A7 and G7. Using the Solo Clarinet instrument for the melody, the overall song stems from a rising motif which changes to double time in the second half of the song. Additionally, the chords give definition to the song, by using another ESP synthesizer created as a spacey type of keyboard.

Here’s another audio clip which I created from scratch using Logic Pro.

This clip is meant to serve as an old school radio play. The dialogue is completely mine as I took the script from a mystery story that I wrote from the top of my head. I also used recorded sound effects recorded live with a microphone to enhance the story. Lastly I recorded a live performance of myself playing the clarinet as an intro theme.

A third clip was created using another DAW called Protools.

This is the mastered version. In this track, I left the lyrics which I creatively mixed up to give it more of an edgier tone as opposed to the original. I also recreated drums and instruments which matched the key that the original was performed in. Finally I added compression, eq and reverb effects to give it even more zeal to show what I can do in the mixing phase.

As I have more mixes to publish, I’ll be adding them here and if you like anything you hear and would like me to work on any original work, hit me up at my email: bandchix@gmail.com
