On May 18 and 19, 2013 in Oxnard Calif., Strawberries were at the center of the celebration as thousands of people flooded the Strawberries Meadows of the College Park. This marked the 30th anniversary of the festival. The festival was from 10:30 to 7 and free shuttles were available for those that wanted to save ten dollars on parking.

On April 27, 2013, Ability First hosted their first annual Stroll and Roll Event on the backlot of Universal Studios to benefit children and adults with developmental disabilities. There were participants from all across Southern California, including Anaheim, Pasadena, Los Angeles and Claremont. The last 5K walk was at the Santa Anita Derby. The main purpose of the event is to raise money for Ability First and it was really easy to do so by texting “ability” to 41444.

Like last year, the 24th Annual America’s Family Pet Expo returned to the Orange County Fairgrounds in Southern California. With it, they brought familiar acts like Splash Dogs as well as new editions.
Josh Breslow, a two and a half year Army Veteran from Blair, Nebraska says he aspires to be a music producer for Strange Music in Kansas City, Missouri. Breslow says, his experience in the Army has made him appreciate life and it’s a decision, he says, would never change.

On Saturday, April, 13, 2013, over 1100 Los Angeles County residents were invited to this year’s 21st Annual Christmas In Spring Event at MEND. The event put on by Universal Studios Hollywood, and the local food pantry provided individuals with just a little Christmas cheer in April and it was all because of the work of over a hundred volunteers in the San Fernando Valley.

It’s a new year, Thai New Year that is and on Sunday, April 7, 2013, residents of Hollywood Calif. joined together to remember those who have passed and celebrating what is to come in the New Year.

The Traditional Celebration of the Thai New Year would be held the following week at the Buddhist temples.
Elverhoj stands for the name of Denmark’s most famous folk play, translated as “Elves’ hill”.
On the opposite side of Solvang, just within walking, there is another museum that shows a different side of the city’s history.
The Elverhoy Musuem of History and Art gives visitors a look into the home of its founders, an internationally recognized painter and sculptor, Viggo Brandt- Erichsen and his wife. The collection of houses that make up the museum contain antiques including a spinning wheel as well as a collection of painting and sculptures.
It’s “one of the few museums outside Denmark, devoted to the Danish- American experience” and it’s free to experience while in Solvang.

On Saturday, January 26, residents in Downtown Riverside, prepare for the Lunar Chinese New Year with a parade and festival celebrating the upcoming Year of the Snake.
Cultures such as Japanese, Korean and Chinese were honored at the event.
According to ancient Chinese wisdom, the year of the snake is said to bring a good omen to people, where “the family will not starve.”
