“Love Me” REVIEW

“I want to be us!”

It’s the most iconic line in the latest post apocalyptic film where two seemingly inanimate objects learn to develop human emotions. They do so through what many people use now: online dating. This very raw passionate movie will have you gripping for a cold glass of water as it moves from very innocent questions to deeper heart felt moments as the satellite and SMART Buoy come to life on the big screen.

The cast consists of virtually two actors, Twilight’s Kristen Stewart and Nope’s Steven Yeon who both add their own style and personality to the very complex storyline. Similarly Stewart’s performance stands out as one of an evolving timeline as she exceptionally captures the essence of learning to feel as Yeon helps her with this.

All in All, Love Me is truly a one of a kind film brought to us by director brothers Andrew and Sam Zuchero who make their full length feature debut after directing a few shorts with the same apocalyptic flare. It’s certainly a film that will have your attention as they explore multiple elements of A.I and bring the deeper question to the surface that many wrestle with. That is, is A.I actually alive? For that, one has to see the film and truly continue to ponder that question.

Love Me came out in theaters July 31 and is currently playing in one near you.
