LA County Salutes Recreation

LA County brought back the Salute to recreations the first three days in June this year.
The three day event was held at the Northridge Aquatic Center beginning at 5 p.m on Friday until 10 p. m Sunday
And Valley Relics promoted its free tours offered every Saturday to the public.
LADot was among the various booths set up with information for all.
Being a hot day, bubbles made the difference.
Of course the Hawaiian theme was a popular attire.
Various bounce houses and carnival rides entertained the kids in the park.
And one district even had wash off tattoos for all.
The various districts offered free crafts for the kids.

The festival also contained various musical performances including an all girl sister act from Palmdale, Sledge Grits.

And in the Hawaiian village various themed acts attracted crowds over the weekend.

“Snowflakes” In Tarzana

The Snowflake festival was a way of bringing out the community of Tarzana to the Cultural Center for a Sunday afternoon of fun and games for the children while parents could do some holiday shopping in the park.  The festival lasted from 10-4 and provided, arts and crafts, face painting and even snow in California.

Winter Concert in Santa Clarita Valley

On November 6, 2016, the Santa Clarita Philharmonic held their annual winter concert and invited the public to an afternoon of music free at the Hart High School auditorium.  As previously reported, the nonprofit organization has been performing for four years now and play a variety of classical selections throughout the year including Copland, Hovhaness and debuting at this concert a piece composed by concert master, Sarah Walin Huff.  Listen below for the complete concert highlights.

Wondercon 2015 in Anaheim, Calif.

Held on the first weekend in April on the Easter weekend, fans flooded into the Anaheim Convention Center for an opportunity to get their hands on the latest in comic books as well as to see exclusive sneak peeks of new movies and television shows at this year’s Wondercon, celebrating the popular arts.

Watch now, to learn just a little bit more about what awaited at this year’s event including a special look at the phenomenon know as Cosplay Dreamz 3D as well as a Celebrity Cruise, benefiting a lifelong illness.

The “Original” Harvest Festival 2014

On the Second weekend of October, hundreds of vendors brought their own taste to the Anaheim Convention Center at the Original Arts and Crafts Harvest Festival.  There was thousands of handcrafted originals from a variety of food options to fashion and even a unique travel laundry bag that its creators hoped to entice crowds to purchase .  And artists like Duo Hijinx, Scott Land’s Marionettes and even a juggler showed up to offer their talents on the three day weekend while residents shopped for hours at the convention center.

Harvest Festival- The Original Arts and Crafts Show

As Fall sets in and the weather turns cool, in Anaheim, local farmers, and other handyman came out on October 11 through the 13 to showcase their best works of art at the Harvest Festival.  From musicians and artists to wood carvers and more, there were over 24 thousand handcrafted originals, musicians including Powerhouse and a Rock and Roll singing pianist named Brady Goss and well as great food all at relatively reasonable prices.
