31 Years Of Avocados in Carpenteria

Avo Fest 2013

It was three days of Peace, Love and Guacamole at the California Avocado Festival in Carpinteria, Calif. as hundreds of So Cal residents filled the streets to eat, drink and buy avocados.  Various music groups performed on three different stages set up for the weekend and there was even a “Kids Only” zone where children could play miniature golf and race slot cars.

Santa Monica Pier: More Than Just A Beach

The Santa Monica Pier in Southern Calif. is more than just a place to relax next to the Pacific Ocean.  The Pier was first opened September 1909.  It was originally built to allow its residents to “walk above the waters of the Pacific Ocean”.  Now, the pier offers residents as well as tourists the opportunity to visit unique shops, restaurants and a mini amusement park including the Heal The Bay Aquarium.   In addition, some residents have chosen to make the beach their home.

Watch now, to see just what this unique beach in Southern California has to offer for all ages.

How I wish I could be here today.

It is much to hot not to be swimming in the water, but Hurricane Harbor is closed for the season.  Why are they closed?  They should’ve stayed open at least until after the end of September.  No, they are only open on weekends.  Bummer.  I only hope next week will be just as hot.  Vacation next weekend and I can actually use my season pass.  Oh well, guess the next best thing is the beach tomorrow.  Put my bathing suit on, drive up to Santa Monica.  Just as good.
This looks so tempting
