“Movies” In Warner Park

In addition to Warner Center’s concert series, the center provides family friendly movies in the park on Saturday nights during the summer.  Residents gather in front of the big screen beginning at 8:00 and as soon as the sun goes down the movie lights up the screen for a two hours experience.

Vendors sell movie appropriate snacks including kettle corn, iced drinks to compensate for the hot summer night and more.

Last night’s movie was the latest Star Wars: The Last Jedi which the park was moderately packed for the occasion and the next movie of the summer is scheduled for August the 4th  and will feature the classic “Summer Lovin” Film, Grease.

“Elvis” Alive In North Hollywood

The king made his appearance in front of a semi packed crowd as part of the North Hollywood Summer Concert Series on July 14, 2018 beginning at 7 p.m.    Raymond Michael, who has been performing at a number of different venues including at Knott’s Berry Farm, rocked the park with an hour and a half concert where he engaged with nearly everyone in the park in some way, whether by handing out the iconic Elvis Scarf or just singing directly to them.  The complete video is below for viewing pleasure.


To open up the concert, a young man named Ryder Green who is known for playing a combination of original works including, blues, rockabilly and funk.  Listen to the short video below.

Country Takes Over Warner Center

As part of the Concerts on the Green out at Warner Center Park, residents enjoyed a tribute to country greats as the Highwaymen Live rocked the house for a two hour concert.  The opening act was an emerging artist named Katie Dix from Bakersfield, Calif, who played orginals as well as covers by past female artists including Martina McBride and Reba McEntire.

The concerts are free courtesy of the Valley Culture Center and begin every Sunday evening at 5:30 p.m.  For a complete list of concerts, visit their website here.

Summer Concert Series in North Hollywood

 

 

 

 

As summer kicks off, various cities around the San Fernando Valley begin hosting their annual concert series at local parks.  This year, the Valley Cultural Center put together a special line up for the residents in and around the city of North Hollywood and hundreds of residents showed up to kick off the first of the concerts by paying tribute to the legendary Queen.

Queen Nation, for the first time, performed at the park located on Magnolia Blvd and Tujunga, in walking distance to the Metro Orange line.  The concert kicked off at 7 p.m. with an opening act, a woman born in Russia who has been performing around the world for years, Marina V.

Later, Queen Nation, rocked the park with a 90-minute concert playing iconic songs including Bohemian Rhapsody and We Will Rock You to close out the show.

The next concert will be Saturday June 23 with Billy Mitchell and his circle of friends performing at 7 p.m.  All concerts are free with donations made to the Valley Cultural Center.  For a complete list of concerts, visit the No Ho Summer Nights page.
