It’s the telling of the greatest story ever told to the smallest visitors in theater and will ultimately have even adults sobbing.
Told by legendary author, Charles Dickens to his troublesome son, it’s told in both stage reading and “live action” animated dramatization, as well as inspirational music including an original written and sung by Wicked’s Kristen Chenoweth.
The film stars the impressive voice talents of Oscar Isaac as well as Ben Kingley, Uma Thurman, Pierce Brosnan, Kenneth Branagh and Mark Hamill to name a few, all of which did an outstanding job of making biblical characters come to life.
Biblically speaking, The King of Kings does a good job of keeping the truth intact while making it a film dedicated to bringing kids to see. Moving through the story of Jesus, it covers the birth through Jesus’ ministry and ultimately the last supper, death and resurrection. There’s even a special message from children talking about bringing others to see King of Kings.
All in all at an hour 45 minute run time, King of Kings is a great movie, not just at Easter time, but really anytime. It’s a great witnessing tool to show anyone who doesn’t know “the truth, the light and the way”.
King of Kings came out April 11th, and is currently playing in a theater near you. See it and pave the way to others knowing the truth through Angel Studio’s pay it forward initiative.
