“Dial of Destiny” REVIEW

Harrison Ford is bringing Indiana Jones back one last time. This time, to reclaim that which was lost to him years ago, but the one question, can he get to the dial before the Germans use it to their advantage.

Indiana Jones: Dial of Destiny is the epic conclusion to the saga that started over 40 years ago. Ultimately it stands up to the original as it takes would be history and combines it with a sense of archeaologist adventure that culminates with the venturing into the cave to find the true treasure.

Additionally, the cast brings back John Rhys Davies as his sidekick as well as a brief scene in the end with his on screen wife, Karen Allen as they replay a comedic scene that fans might remember from the original. There are also new faces including Indy’s goddaughter, Helena (Phoebe Waller Bridge), who holds her own next to the legend. Also a surprise twist of Antonio Banderas makes this film all the more adventurous.

The only slight critique might be the use of time and trying to figure out is this film before or after the last one. The director’s did such a good job of following the original, there are a few places that one might think it was meant to be from that time, until the reference about wife and son came up.

That being said, at nearly 2 and a half hours, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will send you on an adventure of a lifetime. The film came out in theaters June 30th and is currently playing in one near you.
