“Good Person” REVIEW

Black Widow‘s Florence Pugh gives by far one of the toughest and yet best performances of her career. She plays Alison Johnson, a young woman engaged to be married when a car accident takes everything she holds dear. Now she resorts to the only comfort she can find, a dangerous addictive pain medication. The question is can she over come this addiction and forgive herself or will she seize to exist.

Good Person also stars Angel Has Fallen‘s Morgan Freeman as Daniel, father of Allison’s friend and soon to be sister in law who tragically is killed in the accident. Like Allison, Daniel is faced with an addiction, this time to the bottle as he must accept the loss of his only daughter and now must care for his only teenage grand daughter.

All in all, the film does an awesome job of portraying the steps of grief for all parties, while allowing a little comedy to lighten the mood and bring joy to audiences watching.

Good Person came out in theaters March 24, 2023 and is currently playing in one near you.
