“Jesus Revolution” REVIEW

It’s time for a Jesus Revolution as the latest faith movie hits theaters giving both Quantumania and Cocaine Bear a run at the box office.

The film delves into the biggest spiritual awaken in American history. It explores the journey of Calvary Chapel‘s Chuck Smith as he takes the biggest chance when hippie preacher Lonnie Frisbee shows up on his door step. Ultimately it is that chance, that ignites the largest movement in which Harvest preacher Greg Laurie finds himself facing his ultimate calling.

The film stars well known tv and film star Kelsey Grammar as the once uptight Chuck Smith as well as Chosen’s Jonathan Roamie who is nothing short as inspiration as both use their own dynamic charisma to truly drive the film and paint the ultimate picture for the reason of the revolution. Additionally a very young Greg and Kathe Laurie are portrayed by Super 8‘s Joel Courtney and Supernatural‘s Anna Grace Barlow, both of which do a phenomenal job of portraying lost kids who are part of the awakening as they wrestle with the ultimate calling from God.

All in All, Jesus Revolution, based on the book by Greg Laurie and Ellen Vaughn is a faith movie unlike any ever produced. It does more than just convict people, it rather paints a rather raw image of humanity as flawed as can be. The settings and imagery used throughout really pulls audiences into that time frame while making one truly experience things including full emergence when Laurie get baptized as well as pivotal actions leading up to Laurie’s first youth sermon.

It’s a film that will have you captivated and drawn to the world wide phenomena of the 70’s. Jesus Revolution is currently playing in a theater near you.
