“Retribution” REVIEW

Liam Neeson has his work cut out for him. That is to follow the directions of a twisted man without letting his car blow up with his kids. The question is can he successfully succeed and at what cost? Also it raises the question of what could Neeson have done to this man that was so terrible.

Retribution is that typical action film that will have audiences clinging to their seat. Neeson as always does an exceptional job of creating that sort of suspense while now having to decide his fate as well as his children’s . Additionally the film stars Oppenheimer’s Matthew Modine who does an outstanding job of making audiences question is he good or bad. That surprise fuels the suspense even more and leaves audiences wondering what will happen next.

The film ultimately leaves nothing up to chance in this dangerous game of life and death and two other young actors to note is that of Jack Champion and Lilly Aspell, both who do an exceptional job of going from siblings who rival each other to one of who like Neeson just want to make it out alive. There is that rawness in each’s own unique acting that makes it intriguing as the story unfolds. Additionally both have a sense of camaraderie both with each other and that of with Neeson that one can’t find very easily.

All in all, Retribution which came out in theaters August 25, is a movie that will surprise and excite you as you watch a seemingly estranged family band together to make it out alive. It’s currently playing in a theater near you.
