“Allegiant” Review

The third installment of Veronica Roth‘s Divergent Series is hitting theaters and giving 2-time box office forerunner, Zootopia as well as the christian based newcomer, Miracles From Heaven, a run this week at the box office.

The cast stars Shailene Woodley as Tris Pryor, the (Divergent) girl, who managed to crack the cryptic box, left by the founders inside her childhood home, and discover, they are not alone as she and her Dauntless boyfriend, Four (Theo James) as well as her Erodite brother, Caleb (Ansel Elgort) fight to go beyond the wall.  Now, it is a race against the clock as the team fights to save their beloved hometown in Chicago as the previous factions are broken down and the people are now at war with each other.  Meanwhile Tris, on the outside of the wall, quickly discovers the deep secrets not only about herself and her family but also about the true intentions of the founder, David (Jeff Daniels), who is waiting for them in the central headquarters of the project.

At just over two hours, Allegiant is packed with action, adventure and ultimate a sense of love and commitment that will have fans on the edge of their seats to see if Tris can save the day once again and make Chicago a safe place again.  The blockbuster installment opened Thursday, March, 17 with roughly 2.3 million, which is nearly half as much as the past Insurgent made it’s opening day.  None the less, Lionsgate and Summits Entertainment are hopeful for the film to bring in an estimated 30 million, given its competition.
