“Anyone But You” REVIEW

Its a quirky rom com about two individuals forced to be together after a tricky breakup from a one night stand. When they’re both invited as the official wedding party to close friends and family, they must decide how to get through being together. The answer is clear, “Pretend to be a couple”. Let’s see just how that turns out.

The “Anything But You” stars Top Gun‘s Glen Powell and Euphoria‘s Sydney Sweeney as the couple who must “fake it to make it”. The truth of the matter is can they truly fake it before true emotions get in the way. All in all both actors to an exceptional job at trying to hold on to the stubborn nature of “not trying to get involved”. That being said, it’s clear what is about to happen as the sparks are most certainly there.

The film in a whole is a pretty unique one with a few notable nods to other fun rom coms, including the iconic “Titanic” scene. Both Powell and Sweeney shine in their comedic timing as well as emotional moments that will have you melting and hoping for a happy ending.

Additionally the film also Barbie‘s Alexandra Shipp and Little Women‘s Hadley Robinson who does an exceptional job of also creating “fake” moments that will draw both Powell and Sweeney that much closer. In a nutshell, the film is definitely a story of coincidences and not so coincidences when it comes to true love.

All in all, Anything But You is a fun romantic comedy to end the 2023 year. the film came out in theaters Dec 22 and is currently playing in one near you.
