“Civil War” REVIEW

It’s a civil war in America and military driven journalists are now on race not only to reach DC first but to document everything on the way; no matter what the cost. In a nut shell, Civil War is Whiskey Tango Foxtrot Meets The Purge.

Civil War stars Spiderman’s Kirsten Dunst as well as Priscilla’s Cailee Spaeny as a spunky teen with the same journalist ambition. She joins the team naive but see tremendous growth as she learns the job sometimes comes before her own safety. All in all, she does an awesome job with showing that kind of intense emotion even as everyone she cares about makes the ultimate sacrifice.

Additionally the film also co stars actors including Lady Bird‘s Stephen McKinley Henderson, Wagner Moura and Nick Offerman as the President. All of whom do an exceptional job of capturing the heart of Civil War, that is Racial divide.

Civil War contains stunning, intense graphic scenes that come to life through the magical power of the sound team. Seriously a lot of credit needs to be given to them as they truly make it as though you are actually there when the bullets are flying. The only criticism one may have is there is no clear cut story as to what started the war, though one can agree, it’s a typical A24 Film. It leaves a lot to your own imagination while seeing the dangers that War driven Journalists put themselves in the middle of just to get a piece of the story.

Civil War came out in theaters April 12 and is currently playing in a theater near you.
