County Fair Goes “Pop”

Pop culture is the highlight of the 97th annual LA County fair as fans, residents and spectators take to the Fairplex in Pomona beginning Labor Day weekend August 30th. The fair lasts for 24 days until Sunday September 22 and there is something for everyone at the fair from rides and games for the kids, fun fair foods that will have people lining up for the deep fried oreos and giant bacon wrapped corn dog.

Because of the Pop theme this year, gaming was a highlight as one room paid homage to past games allowing people to become kids again with lincoln logs, a giant piano that one could play, and even a giant echo a sketch for the joy of fair fun. Next to the grand stand there was another retro room where people could escape the heat and go back in time to play 25 cent arcade games like street fighter and pacman.

And the farm animals were back again as people could see the newest additions including cows goats sheep and horses to name a few. Plus if one got lucky they might be able to experience the miracle of birth as farm animals brought new livestock to life right before fair goers eyes.

For just 15.50 experience everything Pomona has to offer at the oldest fair on the west coast. Don’t forget about the two awards areas including America’s kids and the Milliards Arts center where one can marvel over the creativity in food, photography and more. Tickets are available here, don’t miss it.
