“Missing”REVIEW

From the studio that brought Searching, comes the next suspenseful film that will have audiences on the edge of their seats.

Missing stars 12 Years A Slave’s, Storm Reid in by far her most intense role yet. When her mother never comes home after a trip overseas with her boyfriend, all she can think of is, what happened to her mom. That concern launches an all out search for any clues as to the whereabouts as she only finds more questions including who who mom really is.

The editing choice of Missing is truly a clever one as it is spliced together perfectly as though everything is through the eyes of the computer that the actress uses. It has an exquisite way of capturing the viewers attention and pulling them in so that one really feels like they are they one clicking the screens. The first person viewpoint with Reid breaking the third wall is also a unique twist in the creative movie making that is used to bring the film to life.

Furthermore, the storyline has some unexpected twists and turns that will leave the audience further on the the edge of their seats. there is no hint of where the story is going which is refreshing as it keeps the suspense up to the very end as one begins to wonder will everyone make it and ultimately will the mom be all right.

Overall, at just under 2 hour run time, Missing is definitely one for the true enthusiast. It’s especially appealing for anyone who wants a good suspense, while learning that technology itself could be more dangerous as well as a very helpful tool to find the people you need to find. Missing came out in theaters, January 20, 2023 and is currently playing in one near you.
