“Paws of Fury” REVIEW

Hank’s dream of becoming a samurai is about to come true even only just as a ploy by deceptive leader to destroy the little town in his way. Now it’s up to Hank to prove not only to the people but also to himself that he is in fact Samurai material.

Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank is a comical adventure that is surprising unique in its own way. It’s Karate Kid meets Blazing Saddles with a hint of West Side Story and will have movie goers of all ages glued to their seats wondering what is going to happen next.

The animated film contains a star stunning cast of voice actors including Michael Cera as Hank, Ricky Gervais as the deceptive leader with a secret agenda and Samuel L. Jackson as the once great Samurai suddenly turned teacher. Also a relative new voice actor shows promise as Kylie Kuioka stills the show and hearts as the small but might Emiko who displays a real knack for standing up for the village she loves. Finally Mel Brooks adds power to the cast as the great leader who wants nothing but to protect when the town cries out for a new Samurai. And Michelle Yeoh also offers her voice in a strong yet equally comedic performance.

That along with stunning picture on picture scenes which makes a bigger story come to life before out very eyes. It all demonstrates the heart of what filmmakers seek to remind audiences, that is the story of love and acceptance which is much more powerful than hate and separation. It proves that anyone can be a samurai even a lonely dog for a community of cats.

Paws of Fury came out in theaters July 15, 2022 and is currently playing in one near you.
